RAYSA Parents code of conduct
Regarding my child
I will set a good example to my child in their soccer development by adhering always to the following:
- I will remember that children participate in RAYSA to have fun and that the game is for youths, not adults.
- I will remember this in not the World Cup. This is recreational soccer and it is about my child developing their skills and learning to love the game of soccer.
- I will strive to be a positive role model for my child and their teammates.
- I will only give positive feedback to all players. I will not ridicule or yell at my child or other participants for any reason.
- I will leave the coaching to the coaches.
- I will cheer at all games within the spirit of fair play and shall do my best to cheer the effort regardless of the outcome.
- I will ensure my child attends practices within RAYSA guidelines and is prepared and on time for all games.
- I will ensure my child always treats all coaches, referees, teammates, and opposing players with respect.
- I will ensure my child adheres to the RAYSA Player Code of Conduct and understands that a violation of said code can and will result in them being removed from a game and/or suspended from future games or seasons within RAYSA.
Regarding opposing teams
- I will remember that the opposing team is our opponent and not our enemy.
- I will be mindful in lopsided games where cheering our own winning team might be misunderstood.
- I will not engage in altercations with any coaching staff, parents, players, referees or spectators.
- I will attempt to be the bigger person and not respond to inappropriate behavior from opposing spectators, teams or coaches.
Regards to Referees
- I believe that referees, just as coaches and players, are attempting to do their best and I will have respect for that.
- I understand that my attitude can influence my child and their teammates.
- I will always display a controlled and undemonstrative attitude toward referees. I will not yell or address them during or after a game.
- If I have a complaint regarding a referee I will address it in writing to the RAYSA Referee Coordinator.
- I will abide by the rules of the RAYSA Zero Tolerance Policy.
Regarding Coaches
- I understand that they are volunteers and dedicate their time to my child and their teammates. They are attempting to do their best, and I will respect that.
- If I have a complaint regarding a coach, I will address it in writing to the RAYSA Board, and not confront the coach directly or engage in spreading rumors.
Regarding RAYSA
- I understand that the members of the RAYSA Board are all parent volunteers and do their best to act in the interest of all the children and parents in the league.
- If I have a complaint, criticism or suggestion, I will personally address it with a member of the RAYSA Board or at a RAYSA Membership meeting.
- I agree to refrain from smoking on the soccer fields during practice and games.
- I agree to not bring pets (service animals excluded) on the soccer fields during practice and games.
I agree to uphold the above, and understand that if I violate or fail to adhere to the behaviors outlined, I and my child may be subject to suspension or removal from the RAYSA organization, in accordance with the procedures detailed above.
